(More customer reviews)After over a year of experimenting with our 1st digital Plasma TV and roof top antennas, signal booster, etc. we were finally satisfied that we did not need cable or Fios TV and would rather invest the money saved in redoing the family room with some new cabinetry for the TV/electronics instead.
The job had an electrician installing various recessed lights/switches. I wanted to install HDMI cables, speaker cables etc. while the walls were gutted. I bought these HDMI interfaces/wall plates to be able to terminate a couple of (long) HDMI cables from the Plasma TV (on far wall) to a new wall outlet by the sofas to connect HDMI laptops/camcorders. I thought electricians would have no idea about all this and I had to do it myself. Turns out almost immediately the interface pieces popped off the face plate. The electricians called the product "junk" and told me they are very familiar with "home theater installation" and often do this kind of wiring. The next day they had everything all complete with parts from their supply house.
Where did I get them from, they asked. When I said Amazon, they said "Hm"! Well, they did use the 2 50Ft HDMI cables from Amazon. Seems likely all this will be redundant shortly when Intel/Google/Logitech come out withe their small HDMI (Web surfer) box to connect to the TV with wireless mouse/keyboard control replacing the TV remote.
